BerkeleyWind instruments have 2 kinds Oboe.full- automatic and Semi-automatic. also have ebony and The "ABS w/bone powder " material has the same acoustic properties as natural
wood. i US most people use Semi- automatic horn. maybe because full- automatic horn need more adjust. my best friend is first oboe in China. we test all the horn before we ship. but as we know. play oboe is like play Chinese TAI-CHI. even you know how to play the note. but still not enough. you need to have more into feeling.and good horn not just made by ebony or solid wood. it's depend how to cut the wood. i been play clarinet over 30 years. but still don't know how to play oboe. i can read. but can't perform like him. and i need more then half hour to get in tune.so when you or your boy like to learn oboe. please think about they are ready or not. otherwise you will return my horn in 3 days. as we always say. hammer is same but build difference house. we don't like to sell horn too high. is because hope most student can learn this CHI instruments. but please don't think this horn is cheap.
